Open Standards Adoption

Case Study: Open Standards Adoption

Back to Our Work

Championing and implementing open standards for interoperability and future-proofing identity solutions for a government agency. This project ensured that their systems could seamlessly integrate with other services and avoid vendor lock-in.

The Challenge

The agency's reliance on proprietary technology was creating silos and making it difficult to collaborate with other departments and external partners. They needed a strategy to transition to open standards like OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and SAML to foster a more open and interoperable ecosystem.

Our Solution

We conducted a thorough analysis of their existing infrastructure and developed a phased migration plan to adopt open standards. This involved deploying an identity broker, refactoring applications to use standard protocols, and providing training to their development teams on best practices for secure and interoperable identity management.

The Outcome

By embracing open standards, the agency has broken down technology barriers, enabling smoother collaboration and data exchange. Their new identity platform is more flexible, scalable, and secure, and they are well-positioned to take advantage of future innovations in the identity space without being tied to a single vendor.
